A Tea Party to Remember - The 9-12 Project

Today – I have been born again.
Baptized by fire
Redeemed by the blood of veteran patriots
Gone is my doubt in the strength of the American Spirit. Gone is the feeling that conservatism and libertarianism is dying an inevitable death. Gone is the fear that our children will only know an America where the Constitution is considered a “list of negative liberties.”
Edmund Burke said – All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing….. Today, tens of thousands of Good People refused to do nothing. Good People across the length and breadth of the nation flooded Pennsylvania Avenue and surrounded the Capitol because they refused to do nothing. Good People who on their own time and dime traveled to The District to join hands with other Good People and send a message to Congress. Messages that read –
• Enough is Enough
• Don’t Tread on Me
• Czars are for Russia Not USA
• Stop Bankrupting America –
Signs on Strollers that read –
• I’m too Young to be in Debt
• Two Weeks Old and $38,000 in Debt
Signs carried by Senior Citizens in Wheel Chairs that read –
• Kill the Bill – Not Grandma
• I’m Scared of Death Panels
• No Government between my Doctor and me
This was a celebration of the people who changed the world… the men who authored the powerful document – that begins –“We the people….” inspired citizens to gather once again – petitioning the government for a redress of grievances…
Patriots joined with one Voice – Chanting -
U-S-A, U-S-A….
Don’t Tread on Me….
People from all walks of life - huddled around singing - The Battle Hymn of the Republic, The Star Spangled Banner and My Country 'Tis of Thee… IN 1776, before there were red states and blue states, Samuel Adams said – "If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its patriots to prevent its ruin." John Gardner said – "The citizen can bring our political and government institutions back to life, make them responsive and accountable, and keep them honest. No one else can."
Today we recall the words of our ancestors and thousands of patriots and citizens sent a message to Washington – urging the government to hear our humble voices, reminding them who brought them to Washington, and warning them that We The People will protect our freedom and liberty with at any cost.
I return home today – revived, revitalized and re-energized; ready to battle against tyranny and injustice to protect liberty, freedom and justice for all.
