I am afraid…
• That my family is in denial about the very real threat to democracy our nation faces.
• That my mother thinks we should remain silent.
• That my brother believes people who oppose the Healthcare Bill are selfish, heartless people who take pleasure in the suffering of others.
• That my friends think that people who warn them about the dangers facing us are paranoid fanatics, afraid that the proverbial sky is falling.
• That my church refuses to speak out against the Fairness Doctrine.
• That my government wants to take over every facet of my life, and assume complete control of it.
• That my nieces are being indoctrinated to believe that Capitalism is evil, and that hard work, creativity and ingenuity are not necessary to achieve success.
• That the GOP has swung so far left, they don’t understand what their base is protesting.
• That the apocalypse that my grandfather predicted, the one I laughed about, is looming in the horizon.
• That the freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights are being systematically revoked but it is happening so subtly and behind the scenes, the public doesn’t even know they should be alarmed.
• That the Healthcare Bill just passed in the House – and that half of our nation is still focused on shopping, partying and trying to ignore the facts.
But know this – I am not afraid
• Of being ostracized.
• Of being arrested.
• Of being thrown in jail.
• Of water-boarding
• Of death.
I promise you -
• I will not be intimidated into silence
• I will not be coerced into indifference
• I will not stand idly by while the radical left destroys this nation that I love so much.
• I will guard liberty from enemies both foreign and domestic
• I will raise my children to love this nation, respect the constitution and defend justice for all.

A Tea Party to Remember - The 9-12 Project
Today – I have been born again.
Baptized by fire
Redeemed by the blood of veteran patriots
Gone is my doubt in the strength of the American Spirit. Gone is the feeling that conservatism and libertarianism is dying an inevitable death. Gone is the fear that our children will only know an America where the Constitution is considered a “list of negative liberties.”
Edmund Burke said – All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing….. Today, tens of thousands of Good People refused to do nothing. Good People across the length and breadth of the nation flooded Pennsylvania Avenue and surrounded the Capitol because they refused to do nothing. Good People who on their own time and dime traveled to The District to join hands with other Good People and send a message to Congress. Messages that read –
• Enough is Enough
• Don’t Tread on Me
• Czars are for Russia Not USA
• Stop Bankrupting America –
Signs on Strollers that read –
• I’m too Young to be in Debt
• Two Weeks Old and $38,000 in Debt
Signs carried by Senior Citizens in Wheel Chairs that read –
• Kill the Bill – Not Grandma
• I’m Scared of Death Panels
• No Government between my Doctor and me
This was a celebration of the people who changed the world… the men who authored the powerful document – that begins –“We the people….” inspired citizens to gather once again – petitioning the government for a redress of grievances…
Patriots joined with one Voice – Chanting -
U-S-A, U-S-A….
Don’t Tread on Me….
People from all walks of life - huddled around singing - The Battle Hymn of the Republic, The Star Spangled Banner and My Country 'Tis of Thee… IN 1776, before there were red states and blue states, Samuel Adams said – "If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its patriots to prevent its ruin." John Gardner said – "The citizen can bring our political and government institutions back to life, make them responsive and accountable, and keep them honest. No one else can."
Today we recall the words of our ancestors and thousands of patriots and citizens sent a message to Washington – urging the government to hear our humble voices, reminding them who brought them to Washington, and warning them that We The People will protect our freedom and liberty with at any cost.
I return home today – revived, revitalized and re-energized; ready to battle against tyranny and injustice to protect liberty, freedom and justice for all.

Precious, Priceless. Powerful.
Very young in life, I was introduced to the power of words. Precious, Priceless, Powerful, they appealed to me like nothing ever would. Words that would open to me a universe beyond my little world in the written word; words that could move me, anger me, wound me, soothe me, shatter me, nurture me and destroy me. I’m eternally fascinated with words molded into pieces of prose, lyric, story and poetry.
I am constantly reminded of generations of martyrs who sacrificed their lives so that I can exercise my right to free speech under the First Amendment to the Constitution which states -
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
When I was a little girl someone told me - “Words are the most priceless things we own, and we must use them well.” Rather than tell me that words are so priceless that I must hide them, or save them for special occasions, or put them in a useless locker so I can glance at them every once in a while, I was told to use them well. This is me exercising my right guaranteed by the first amendment – unfiltered for political correctness, unadulterated by useless euphemisms and unabashed by my conservatism.
